Christmas Gift Bags

This year's Get-Together was much earlier than the previous years, and it kinda got me really nervous. Thank goodness I had been really active in the card-makings and finished all the birthday cards for November and December ahead of time.

The assembled gift bags that include a crochet bee accessory, a dorayaki and a tiny card. Haha so this is a post that uses up all my labels.

The cute bunny gift bags was bought on Qoo10.sg and I simply can't resist. I know I have some gift bags stashed away somewhere in my stationery stocks, but it can't hurt buying something new 'once in a while', right?

Made some really simple mini cards with printed Hello Kitty pictures. Realizing at the same time that, simple things can take up a lot of time when you make a lot of them.

Will be posting the recipe and crochet pattern separately really, really soon. So stay around~!

Balloon Themed - Lingx

Had some problems thinking of a theme for this one. With Tweety Bird popping into my head for countless times due to an ancient inside joke we share. So decided to make use of the beautiful buttons I bought recently and add in that cutie Tweety Bird.

Fell in love with buttons since the previous time I used them to highlight the music notes. So for this card, with the upgraded buttons, I also added knitting wool and cotton wool. It's really amazing how everything in life seems to intertwine with each other so perfectly.

This would be the first time I've made a card in portray. Thus I had a tough time, cracking my head for pop-up ideas. Searched the net and squeezed all my brain juice dry, but there was nothing.

The result - Simple banners and balloons with some wool for depth, and Tweety being the highlight. Well, I made an effort not to glue those balloons flatly, making them curl slightly instead. Hahaha I'm not totally convinced myself, but let's just say that it compensates for the pop-up. =D

Ending the card with a nice Mashimaro letter, which I had stashed away for a long, long time.

Snoopy Fan - Desmond

Finally it's December. The year really flew past in a flash.

This card will explain all the previous Snoopy-themed cards, since this December Baby is a big fan of Snoopy. A really simple card with Snoopy comic strips cut-out for the front.

And ending with Snoopy working on his story, giving the excuse for such a simple card. (hahaha) But still, it's adorable.

Jack of All Trades

The first card on this blog for Elizabeth is the 1-year-mark for my card-making journey. It was just birthday letters when I first begun. Honestly, I'm rather surprised that I managed to do it till now, since I'm the kind of person with too many interests and too little 'energy' to pursue them.

Baking, Guitar, Knitting, Cooking, Card-Making, and the list goes on. I wouldn't say that I have the 'passion' for these, because 'Passion' seems too strong a word for me. I simply enjoy doing them. Now with the planning, designing, researching in the office and the record-keeping on Blogger, I hope it keeps me on long enough for me to get better at them.

But I am glad that the fact that there are always something new to learn never fails to amaze me, and that is probably the main reason that kept me going most of the time.

Musical Piano - MW

Finally the last of the November Babies. With this, we will be able to move on to the December Babies and march right into Christmas!

Oh no! Recycled idea again. Please believe me when I say this is very unlike me. It simply had to be musical themed because she too is a member of our band.

At least I spent effort on the inside! Hahax. A pop-up piano~ Well, not because she plays the piano/keyboard, but this is probably the best I can do now, with my level of pop-ups designing. Still, it turned out really well, with some nice short messages and colorful pens. It is my favorite card so far, since this blog started. (This should make up for the unrefined card I sent her last year. T-T)

Typewriter Snoopy - Pepper

I have three names in my list of November Babiessssss, including the husband's. So the end of the year can get real busy, together with the approaching Christmas.

Ops. Almost identical with the one for Eliz. Though I usually print images as many to fill a full page, it is very unlike me to be making cards of the same design/idea/whatever. I shall really reflect on this one.

Still love how the inside of the card looks. Can't really explain why, but I get very different feelings with the outside. Well, looking at the outside of the card makes me roll my eyes and pushes me to the verge of remaking the card. But looking at the inside kinda makes me wanna give myself a pat on the head. Well Done~ *patpat*

THE Musical Band Birthday Card for the Husband

Celebrated the husband's birthday with a little getaway to Hong Kong just the last weekend. But I managed to slip this card into the post before we left. I must say that it was not easy since he sends me to and from work everyday. Still, it was rather fun sneaking and sending a letter to your own address locally.

Haha~ Came across this funnie birthday message somewhere on the net and thought that I should use it for his card. Made his card with a musical theme since we started out with the band and he totally looooove my singing. Also the first time I'm using buttons for my card-making. Really cool how they fit so nicely.

Orange drum set for him, and a pink guitar for me. Tried some calligraphy flourishing which I obviously am not very good at (but I suppose it'll do). Personal birthday message/letter not shown.

Typewriter Snoopy - Onion

Starting off with a little cute birthday card for the September Baby.

Some simple paper cuts and Snoopy typing away in the corner.

Not exactly fascinated by the outside of the card, but love how the inside turned out to be. Showcasing my Vintage Typewriter with a little pop-up (not really visible from the photo though) and some flags and balloons for decoration in the background. Had space for some personal message on the same page as well.

Genesis

Converting MeteoRain to a series of records of all my 'personal achievements'. Haha. That would include mostly the completed cards for Project 'Sending Smiles One Birthday at a time', and maybe my bakings, cookings, and crochet. Basically anything that makes me feel that I've 'levelled up' in Life.

MeteoRain has been my favorite 'word' since forever. Somehow it gives the feeling of dreams and wishes coming true, like the actual Meteor Rain (or meteor shower). Would be nice if it made yours come true, or at least bring you a smile.
